My strength comes from my mother; she always
told me: 'As long as you are honest with yourself, you have every
right to fight for what you believe.' This has been a learning experience
for me. One day in my life I will look back and realise that this
is something I had to experience to understand what it is like to
be dispossessed, to be lonely, and to have nothing of my own. It
will help me to see the world and people more clearly - because
if you have not been there you cannot know.

The only thing that I have is a huge faith
in God and for this I continue to struggle. I feel that all of this
has to have happened for a reason. I am in a terrible situation
here but I know that there are people who are in worse situations.
I'm nobody in this country and I know there is not much I can do,
but in one way or another I try to alleviate some of the pain that
I see around me. I feel that one day things will change, somebody
is going to realise what is the real situation that refugee claimants
are living here.

I believe that one day I will find my life.
I am hopeful. I can't speak very well, but I can understand. Maybe
I have forgotten some things but my memory still works. You must
understand I am not a lazy person - I am very active, I like to
work. Maybe I can still do things for other people. Just give me
the opportunity to work and I can learn, and I can teach things
to other people.
