Green Corps memories by Anon
I thought that we probably deserved a mention. I was a member of the 1997 Green Corps team on the Mountains to Mangroves project.
For six months we made our home along the catchment (based at Downfall Creek Bushland Reserve) and at times we founded the opportunity to dedicate our time to the preservation and restoration of the catchment.
With Singapore Daisy in abundance, we armed ourselves with weapons of destruction, and set about to remove this environmental weed. As well as planting trees, boardwalk construction, and the removal of the weed leuceana from the entire catchment.
The experience was short lived, and after it was finished, we all went our separate ways, but I'll always remember the contribution we made to the catchment (or if at all).
