This web site was initially developed as a part of Brisbane City Council project is called: “YOU ARE HERE - living stories from Banyo and Nudgee”.
|
Photographer Tony Anderton and community development worker Dee Martin were commissioned to work out of the Banyo Library inviting residents to share their stories about living in the Banyo-Nudgee area; stories about the special things that make the Banyo-Nudgee community tick. The project workers will record these stories on tape and also take photographs of people and places in the area. Kerry O’Conner Council Youth Development Officer worked with the project team to support the involvement of local young people. This component of the project is being supported by Visible ink Zillmere and Youth Internet Radio Network which is a partnership between Council and Creative Industries QUT. Young People were invited to create ‘digital stories’ via a series of workshops, which will be held during the June/July holidays.
Project outcomes will include a photo exhibition, live storytelling in the park, an interactive community website (Brisbane Stories), and a slideshow, CD Rom slideshow and Audiotapes to be held at the Library as a community resource.
Mark Crocker and Kathy McMullan; from Community Development Services (BCC), Roslyn Pryor and her staff at Banyo Library are all working with the project team to ensure the projects success. Mark Crocker was the project manager.
Council commissioned Rob Whyte and Scott Bennett from Toadshow to build this web site.
